Present day
After graduating high school, I realized the story idea I had been playing with since the tenth grade was basically a rip-off of the X-Men and the first season of Stranger Things.
I started thinking of ways to incorporate the elements I love so much in these stories (magic, found family, rich character arcs, end-of-the-world stakes) in a story that was really my own.
A million outlines and two scrapped drafts later, I started the third draft of Project Space.
I finished the third draft of Project Space in the middle of the night in a hostel in Iceland.
A title has been chosen! Project Space will henceforth be known as
JAR OF DISILLUSIONS.
I started documenting my editing process on Instagram Stories with my DAYS OF EDITING series.
The first outline of the first iteration of "Project Space" was written!
I am beginning to write Draft 4 of Jar of Disillusions. It won't be a complete rewrite, but it's still going to be a beast to tackle. You can follow along my Instagram series DAYS OF DRAFTING !
